9 Reasons I Love Spellbinders July 2026 All Crates Club

Tips, Tricks and Ideas for Creating Fun and Festive Christmas Cards and Tags

One of the biggest challenges with Christmas cardmaking isn’t finding ideas…it’s deciding which ideas to make first!

Adorable Christmas card and tag featuring a diecut penguin "swinging on a candy cane" and a sweet Teddy Bear tag.

As soon as I opened the July 2026 All Crates Club, my mind started racing. Should I make the adorable penguin swinging on a candy cane? A cozy stitched reindeer? A retro Christmas tree scene? And who gets which card?

If you’re thinking about creating handmade Christmas cards this year, the Spellbinders July 2026 All Crates Club might be one of the most delightful collections yet. Today’s cards feature playful designs, festive colors, and one of my favorite things about subscription kits—everything works beautifully together.

🥰 Cuteness

Honestly, who can resist a penguin swinging on a candy cane?

Candy Cane Swing Card

Adorable die cut Christmas Card with a penguin swinging on a candy can in pink, red and teal.

Not much is cuter than a penguin swinging from a candy cane!

I kept this design simple with pink, red, black, and aqua for a bold, festive look. A white panel cut with Playful Stitched Panels helps draw attention to the focal point.

High contrast plus lots of personality make this card an instant favorite.

Merry Bear Tag

Adorable handmade 2 layer gift tag with a die-cut Teddy Bear. Perfect for a baby shower or Christmas.

Gift tags are one of my favorite ways to stretch supplies.

I embossed the base tag using the Snuggly Knit Embossing Folder and layered a second tag above it in a slightly lighter pink.

This extra step took less than five minutes but added wonderful texture and dimension.

Quick Tip

Tag dies are fantastic craft room staples. They work for birthdays, Christmas, gifts, and even scrapbook pages.

Merry Shuffle Scene Card

Whimsical die-cut Christmas tree card in teal and pink.

One of my favorite tricks is intentionally placing focal points off-center.

For this retro Christmas tree scene, only half of the tree is visible. The effect feels more natural, whimsical, and visually interesting.

I also created a frame using Playful Stitched Panels and Rounded Rectangle Infinity Dies. Frames are one of my favorite ways to elevate a card because they:

  • provide structure
  • guide the eye
  • create dimension

The soft pink background, aqua tree and pops of purple, orange, yellow, and white create a cheerful retro feel.

Let’s Talk Color

Today’s palette combines:

  • vibrant red
  • crisp aqua
  • soft pink
  • white
  • pops of purple and orange

Limiting the palette keeps the cards cohesive while still feeling colorful and festive.
