Becca Feeken has done it again with her Home Sweet Quilt Collection! I had so much fun planning and creating these colorful cards.
For my first card, I wanted a stained glass effect so I used the inlaid die cutting technique.
My Stained Glass Inlaid Die Cutting Technique
I started by cutting my Patchwork Petals (S5-537) frame out of navy cardstock and then die cut 5 more colors (aqua, lime, lavender, pink and orange).
I die cut two backgrounds: 5″ x 5 1/2″ and then die cut a square into one of the backgrounds so I could inlay the design.
Stamp your sentiment on the panel with the square opening. I used Ranger Denim ink to stamp my Waffle Flowers Rainbow sentiment. I think the sentiment has been discontinued, but it is a set I still love using.
Glue the background with the square opening and sentiment onto the second background.
Inset/glue the navy frame into the square opening. I used liquid glue.
Inset/glue each piece of the quilt.
Using craft foam, glue your card panel to a 5 1/2″ x 6″ card base.
I had lots of extra pieces left over so I created a bright sympathy card by die cutting a white panel (frame and background) and then using three colors from my leftover pieces.
For the Layered Windmill, I created an Octagon shaped card, again with inlaid diecutting. I followed the same process as in Card #1, but then I trimmed the card’s edges with my paper trimmer so that I had a card with 8 sides.
I made two versions, one is white, blue, lime and orange and the other is blue, lime and white.
I love the modern look of these loose sketchy outline flower stamps! They are very versatile and would work great on clean and simple projects but I also plan to use it on some mixed media cards.
I started again by ink blending my background. I used the three lightest colors in Altenew’s Glacier Cave Mini Cube Set. I masked off a frame with washi tape and then started in the bottom right with Arctic and then moved darker toward the top left corner. I stamped the flowers and leaves with black pigment ink. Once the outlines were dry, I stamped the flower centers with Caribbean Sky Crisp Dye Ink. I die cut the blooms, assembled with foam tape and then added Glacier Caves Enamel Dots to finish the project.
I am so happy you stopped by! Spellbinders new Floral Reflections Collection is live and I LOVE how fresh the collection is. I made two cheerful cards, one for a friend’s birthday the second is ready to send for a get well.
For my first card, I used the Sealed Wildflower die kit (S4-1255). I felt like clean and simple was the way to showcase these lovely die cuts so I selected Waterfall cardstockfor my backdrop. I kept my color palette simple: aqua, melon, dark green and white and added coordinating enamel dots to my flower centers. My sentiment was hot foiled and die cut using GLP-260: Mini Everyday Sentiments. Using an A2 top folding card base, I added my waterfall panel with craft foam for a bit of dimension.
All I needed was one sweet grouping of flowers to embellish the tag and I again used the Sealed Wildflowers die kit. My base is an A2 top folding card and then I added a kraft background mat and enamel dots to the flower centers and mounted my tags using foam tape for dimension.
I love the texture that the embossing folder adds to the card, but by using a tag, the overall feel is still clean and simple.
I like to keep Get Well cards on hand so they are ready to send when the need arises. This card is in my desk drawer ready to go.
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my die cut cards.
Hello friend! I am excited to show you some of Altenew’s new products in their wonderful July release. To kick off the release, Altenew is hosting a fun Blog Hop and we hope you will visit each stop.
I’d like to start with the Summer Wishes Bundle which is oh, so fun! For my first card, I created a cozy little beach scene comprised of an adirondack chair, umbrella, radio and flip flops.
I started by ink blending my background with Altenew’s Large Blending Tool + Ocean Waves Crisp Dye Ink. Next, I stamped the elements with black pigment ink and let them dry. I colored the images with the coordinating stencil. I really like the effect of ink blending through stencils and it is so easy to do! To set the stage, I cut a frame using the Rounded Rectangles Die Set. I then die cut each element and assembled my card with foam tape.
Beach Themed Card with Adirondack Chair and Umbrella
I love the modern look of these loose sketchy outline flower stamps and I know this set will become a favorite that I use over and over again. It is very versatile and would work great on clean and simple projects but I also plan to use it on some mixed media cards.

I masked off a frame with washi tape and then started in the bottom right with Arctic and then moved darker toward the top left corner. I stamped the flowers and leaves with black pigment ink. I LOVE citrus, so I couldn’t wait to get this set! I have three Meyer Lemon Trees that are like little babies to me and they were the inspiration for this project.
I wanted a bright happy card so I went with rainbow colors. I started by cutting cardstock into identically sized pieces so I could set up an assembly line for stamping the citrus elements. I stamped the segmented portion on the left side of my Misti and then I moved the panel to the right side and added the rind. With this assembly line, I had all the colors stamped very quickly. All I needed to do was wipe off the ink in between colors. My Mini Blossom Die Cutter made die-cutting a snap. I find it so handy to use on my desk for die cutting smaller elements. I attached the die-cuts (spaced 2″ apart) to a 6 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ panel and added my sentiment.

I just love bright happy colors and I think they pair so well with Spring cards. Today I am sharing two Dogwood themed cards from Spellbinders new collection called Susan’s Garden Favorites.
DIY Glitter Paper Background
My Process:
I started by making pale pink and green Gel Press prints for my flowers and leaves. The branch is cut from a copper gel print because I thought brown was too plain.
I also wanted a bright fun background so I made my own glitter paper. First, I taped some watercolor paper to a hard board and brushed water over the surface. Then I mixed Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks with Shimmer Spray (no water was added) and I painted it on the watercolor paper. I wanted an intense color so I applied three layers but I didn’t bother to let it dry in between. The background is so pretty in person but its hard to see the sparkle in the photos so I added a quick video below.
I die cut the blooms/leaves and then, using a bone folder, I molded and shaped them.
I started by sorting through my gel press prints. I really liked the blue print for my background and thought pink and green would look great as accent colors. The lattice die is so beautiful and I wanted to show it off so I went for a high contrast look. I like that the lattice die is the focal point of the card.
My Process:
The lattice die is both intricate and delicate, so I ran it through my die-cutting machine three times to ensure a crisp clean cut.
I die cut flowers and leaves. The tulips are from the this kit and I added flowers and greenery from Spellbinders Petite Floral Potpourri, which is a favorite of mine.
I also die cut (2X) the Adoring You sentiment included in this kit.
I wanted an A2 card so I cut my background down to 4 x 5 1/4″. I added a layer of craft foam to my card base and then attached my background.
Next I layered the elements of my card using the fine tip of Bearly Glue.
To finish the card I added enamel dots to the flower centers. I used the lightest color from Shades of Purple. I think enamel dots really help finish a project and they are probably my most used embellishment.
Hello friends! Today we’re celebrating Altenew’s Majestic Bouquet Layering Stamp release and I have three cards to share. This is a beautiful layering stamp set with 41 stamps (all made in the USA!) and lots of gorgeous detail.
If you arrived from Terri Koszler lovely blog, you’re right on track and you made it to the final post. If you want to start from the beginning, please visit the Altenew Card Blog. Be sure to scroll to the bottom for details about the hop and give away.
I love the vibrant blues in my first card! I used the darkest three colors in the Glacier Caves Mini Ink Cubes set and ink blended the accent panel with the darkest two colors. All of my sentiments are from the Birthday Greeting Stamp Set and the enamel dots are Glacier Caves Enamel Dots, which coordinate beautifully with the ink cubes. I kept this card simple because I wanted to empasize the bold colors and lovely floral stamp.

Hello friends! I love paper, which I think is one of the many reasons I am a paper crafter. If you are fond of paper then I know you will appreciate Altenew\’s gorgeous new Wildflower Collection too. The release is full of beautiful colors, fun patterns and lovely floral papers plus two gorgeous ephemera packs. To celebrate, Altenew is hosting a blog hop with beautiful inspiration and fun prizes. Cardmaking with Altenew Ephemera and Printed Cardstock
I created three cards for this release. On my first card, all the colored paper is from the Wildflower Collection 6×6\” Paper Pack. I love Altenew\’s Hibiscus Garden 3D Layering Die Set and thought it would be fun to die cut the elements from different papers in the pack. I used two pages for the flower, two different pages for the leaves and then the soft green for the background. I added a bit of splatter with Altenew\’s Jet Black and Pure White ink sprays. I pulled the sprayer out and tapped the hose for pefect splatter each time. So much faster than mixing ink each time.
The second card uses Bitty Bits Ephemera for a fast and colorful card. For the background, I again splattered a white card base with Pure White and Jet Black ink splatters. Next I used the Garden Trellis Cover Die and patterned paper from the Wildflower Collection 6×6\” Paper Pad to die cut a lovely background overlay. I then arranged and layered the ephemera and adhered with foam tape. The packet has loads of die cuts, so I have plenty left over for future projects. I finished off the card by adding Cherry Blossom Enamel Dots

Hello friends! I am so pleased to be participating in my first Altenew Educator Blog Hop! I went through the certification program last year and loved every minute! For this post, I wanted to focus on two favorite stamp sets that I purchased while I was a student in the program, Doodle Blooms and Inked Lotus.
Using Stencils on Acrylic Gel Press Mixed Media Cards
I spent a day making 5 x 7\” acrylic gel press backgrounds in a variety of colors and using lots of Altenew stencils and stamps. I love color and texture and wanted this \”daisy\” card to be bold and vibrant so I started with this gorgeous red panel. With a brayer, I mixed pink, orange and brilliant red and applied to a plate that had some leftover yellow and green already on the press. After the panel dried, I added a layer using the Flowing Drops Stencil and then an additional layer of gold with the Narrow Brick Stencil. You can see the lovely gold shimmer in the second photo.
Die Cutting Floral Images from Acrylic Gel Press Monoprints
Using the Doodle Blooms Bundle, I stamped and die-cut a bunch of blooms from some of the other hand-crafted acrylic panels. I think this is such a happy and cheerful stamp set. I laid the die-cut flowers on the red panel and selected the blooms I liked best on the background and adhered with foam tape. The stems are from the Craft-A-Flower Cosmos Kit. The flower centers are enamel dots from the Glacier Caves and New Day collections. I finished off by adding a sentiment with a strip of my favorite Painted Grid Washi Tape.
The background from this next card is the top portion of the panel I used on the daisy card above. I die cut it with the largest Rounded Rectangle and then backed with foam for dimension. The Inked Lotus was heat embossed and die cut from a coordinating monoprint panel for a tone-on-tone look and was adhered with foam tape. The sentiment was die-cut from black cardstock using the Essential Sentiments Set.
I made a second similar card, but this time the Inked Lotus was die cut from a red/orange acrylic panel where I brayered a lot of turqouise ink over the Narrow Brick Stencil. This is my favorite stencil to use on monoprints. The background panel was brayered with Yellow, Olive and Turquoise. After the paint dried, layers were added with the Leaves and Berries Stencil (blue), Mega Bloom Stencil and finally the Narrow Brick Stencil was lightly inked in gold over the background panel. I love the dimension you get by adding layer upon layer with stencils and stamps.
For my last card, I changed things up and used softer colors: Sky Blue, Blue Violent, Light Purple and Brilliant Purple over a press that had some leftover Olive and Turquoise. I then brayered over the Mega Bloom Stencil with a light coat of gold. You can see the shimmer better in the second photo. I again used the Doodle Blooms Stamp and Die Bundle to stamp and cut my elements from a variety of gel press prints. I finished with Glacier Caves Enamel Dots for the centers.
Here is a photo of two of the backgrounds prior to card assembly. You can really see how lovely the stenciled accents look on the panels.
As I mentioned, I loved using these two stamps for my AECP class work. Here are two homework assignments I submitted using the sets:

Layered Floral Die-Cutting with Altenew’s Cosmos Kit
I am so excited to be participating in my first Altenew Educator Hop! I LOVE this month\’s Cosmos Craft-A-Flower Kit and wanted to create another bright springy card. Here is a LINK to my first card.
Mixed Media Background
I made a background using the recently released Narrow Brick Stencil. I mixed Texture Embossing Paste and Shimmer Spray which I then tinted with diluted purple Watercolor from the 36 pan set. I repeated this and added diluted pink watercolor to a second pile of embossing paste. I then ran this over the stencil in random locations. The two colors of brick are the same colors I used on the flowers.
Water Coloring Panels for Die-Cutting
On two panels of watercolor paper, I brushed on bold watercolors from the 36 pan set. I dried the panels and added a second layer so I had really saturated color. Here is a photo of the three panels I used to make this card.
Before I begin die-cutting I like to take a permanent pen and mark the layering dies with a #1 and #2 for each flower. It just takes just a minute but then it is so much easier to keep up with the little pieces. After I die cut, I also write the corresponding number on the back of the die-cut in pencil in case they get mixed up on my workspace.
These flowers are so easy to assemble and make such a gorgeous showy flower. I used liquid glue and foam tape to assemble my card. To finish, I added Tea Party Enamel Dots.
