WWC232 – Anything Goes Challenge

Hello and welcome!  There are five Wednesdays in July so that means it is Anything Goes at Watercooler Wednesday

Hello Bluebird Rainbow Script Sentiment
Sometimes you just know you need a stamp. It was that way when I saw Hero Arts\’ Venetian Neighborhood.  This card is so much fun to color that I made four different versions in one week. This card is colored with Zigs.  The building was colored with 064 Oatmeal and 061 light brown.  I think the result is very stucco like, which is what I was going for.  This is a get well card so I wanted bright rainbow colors for the windows and clothes.

I love the sentiment:  Hello Bluebird Rainbow Script.

WWC231 – Tristan\’s "All About Occasions" Challenge

Hello and welcome!  This week it is all about occasion cards at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge Website and Tristan is our hostess.
CAS card with off the edge die-cutting using Lawn Fawn\'s Get Well Soon stamp and die set.
I go through a lot of Get Well cards and it was time to add some new cards to my inventory.  Lawn Fawn\’s Get Well Soon stamp set has been a longtime favorite and I thought it would be cute as a CAS card with some off the edge die-cutting.    I started with an A2 panel, did the off the edge die-cutting, then stamped and colored the images in with Copic markers.  Next, I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the prescription bottle tops to make them shine.

I am entering this card in:

Lawn Fawnatics \”Little Things\” Challenge
I love the small little images in the Get Well Soon set. It is one of my most used stamp and die sets because it makes the cutest cards.

WWC225 – Donna\’s "All About Occasions" Challenge

Hello there!  Today starts Watercooler Wednesday\’s \”All About Occasions\” Challenge and I\’ve created a Get Well Scene card. Donna is our hostess and I hope you will stop by our website to see what the other artists have created.   This is such a fun prompt because there are dozens of occasions you can create a card for.
Last year, I ordered one of Simon Says Stamp\’s \”Mystery Sacks\” and Clearly Besotted\’s \”Lift Me Up\” was one of the sets in the package.  I don\’t think I would have purchased this set, but I\’ve had a lot of fun playing with it. So far I\’ve made a birthday card, baby shower card and this Get Well card.

You can mix and match hot air balloons and baskets so I went with the duck balloon and puppy basket. I thought it would be fun to have a friend on the ground so I added the Scottie from MFT\’s Lucky Dog set.  I colored and die-cut the pup and then adhered him to the bottom with foam tape so he would have dimension.
  • I stamped my little scene on an A2 panel and colored with Copic Markers.
  • I cut some masks because I wanted to add a \”cloud and ground\” background with Tumbled Glass (Tim Holtz) and Sand Dunes (Altenew) Die Ink.  I used my new Picket Fences Life Changing Brushes.
  • Finally I die cut with a stitched rectangular die.
I am entering this card in:
Pile It On\’s Transportation Challenge

Crafty Catz Anything Goes Challenge #465

Update:  I was very pleased to see that my card received the \”Sweet Sprinkles Award\” at Pile It On Challenge.

WWC204 – Gail\’s Masculine "Anything Goes" Challenge

My nephew plays Lacrosse for Tufts University and he was recently injured and tore his ACL.  He had surgery to repair his knee and I wanted to send him a Get Well card.  He loved the card! I think it is cute with a bit of humor.   Masculine cards are perhaps the trickiest so I knew I wanted to submit this card for WWC204 – Gail\’s Masculine \”Anything Goes\” Challenge  Stop by and see what the other artists created and then create your entry.

Art Impressions Doggy Kisses

The dog is from one of my go to stamp sets for Get Well Cards- Art Impressions Doggy Kisses.  I colored the pup with copic markers, added a bit of shadow underneath the dog and mounted on a gray A2 card.

Watercolor Anemones

I\’ve been off for a bit because we hosted my daughter\’s wedding in our backyard and then we went on a lovely extended vacation to The Outer Banks.  We are back home now and I\’ve been working on several projects.  I especially like this card.
I was in a watercolor mood and wanted to play with a three color palette.  I love how pink, yellow and orange combine.   I started by gold embossing Jane\’s Doodles Anemone on watercolor paper.  I wanted each flower to be slightly different and selected Daniel Smith\’s Quinacridone Pink, Cad. Yellow Deep Hue and Cad Red Scarlet Hue.  I love how vibrant the colors are!

I finished the card with pink, orange and yellow paint spatters.  I always love that look on other people\’s cards but don\’t often use it on my own.

I included this second picture because I love the gold shimmery glow the heat embossing creates.

I\’ve entered this card in:
The Watercooler Wednesday \”Anything Goes\” Challenge.  I love their prompts and frequently submit a card.

Addicted to Stamps Anything Goes Challenge  I love their broad prompts which make it easy to play along.

Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge  I go through a lot of Get Well cards so this Challenge is great for me.

Update:  I was so pleased to see that I was selected as a Watercolour Challenge Favourite at Happy Little Stampers!

Masculine Get Well Card

I needed some more Get Well cards for men and decided this statement sentiment (Ranger Letter It Greetings) would be fun paired with the birds from SSS\’s Stacking Animals.  I thought the baby bird hanging upside added a light element to the card. I mounted my card base on a \”gravel\” colored card to add to the masculine theme.

Sunday Stamps has a Summer Splash Color Challenge and I used their color palette as my inspiration.

Ranger Letter It Get Well Sentiment stamp

I love Watercooler Wednesday\’s prompts and am also entering this card in their Masculine Card Challenge.

Since this card features animals, I am also entering it in the current Sunny Day Challenge.

This is a CAS card and I wanted it bold so I embossed the sentiment and birds in a glossy black and then colored with Copic markers.  So fast and easy as I only used three colors:  B24, B29 and YR07.

UPDATE:  I was pleased to see this card was selected as a \”Watercooler Rocker\”!

Thanks for stopping by,
