WWC245 – Anything Goes Challenge

Hello and welcome!  October has five Wednesdays and that means it is \”Anything Goes\” at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  We would love for you to submit your creation!

Handmade Card with Memory Box Perky Happy Birthday die

I came up with the idea for creating a fall birthday card with dark cardstock for a seasonal look.  Prior to die cutting, I backed the patterned card stock with adhesive paper  then I die cut the three blooms and sentiment which  made constructing the layout very easy.  I like the clean autumn look of this card.

Supplies Used:
Simon Says Stamp Stitched Daisies dies
Memory Box Perky Happy Birthday sentiment die
Bohemia Barefoot Beautiful Card Stock #BH1062
Hershey Brown textured cardstock
Sizzix adhesive sheets

The Card Concept: Bountiful Blessings Challenge  I was inspired (by the beautiful brown door, fall flowers and autumnal color palette in the inspiration photo) to make a clean and layered card.

Die Cuttin\’ Divas Anything Goes Challenge  My card includes lots of die cuts…the flowers, the sentiment and the stitched card base.

Tuesday Taggers Colors of Autumn Challenge I chose browns, yellows and oranges for my colors of autumn.

WWC238 – Tristan\’s "All About Occasions" Challenge

Hello and welcome!  This week it is all about occasions at Watercooler Wednesday and I chose to make a birthday card.  Tristan is our hostess this week.  Pop by the Watercooler Wednesday Challege website for more details and to link your creation.

WPlu9 Doodle buds stamps and coordinating dies.
I bought a new die, Sunny Studio Frilly Frame Stripe, so I wanted to incorporate it into my card design.  I started by making a background with my Kuretake watercolors and then added the overlay to my background. I stamped, Copic colored and die cut the floral images.  I wanted the sentiment to match so I inked a piece of cardstock with a coordinating Copic marker.  Learning lesson….Let the ink fully dry before attempting to die cut. The first sentiment stuck to the die and came out in 100 tiny pieces.

Supplies:
Sunny Studio Frilly Frames Stripes die
WPlus9 Doodle Buds stamps and dies
SSS Happy Birthday die
Kuretake Watercolors
Distress Watercolor Paper
Neenah cardstock

One Image for a CAS Masculine Card

Several of my nephews have birthdays coming up so it was time to make some masculine cards.  I really like the simplicity of this CAS card.
I started by stamping and coloring the bike from the January 2019 My Monthly Hero kit.  I then glued craft foam to the back and then die cut.  I positioned the sentiment to \”ground\” the bike.  Quick and easy but eye catching as well.

WWC229 – Helen\’s "All About Occasions" Challenge

Hello there and welcome. This week it\’s all about Occasions at The Watercooler Wednesday Challenge website and Helen is our hostess!
Handcrafted llama card using the Paprika stamp and die set by PhotoPlay.

This is the first time to use this stamp and die set – Paprika by Photo Play.  I bought the set at a card making conference I attended this year and it is full of cute images and sentiments.  I love how the llama looks so self important.

I stamped and colored the llama with Copic markers.   Next, I used a stitched die to trim the panel and then a circle die to cut out a
spotlight.  I also heat embossed a stitched sentiment. I backed the white panel with craft foam and attached to the teal A2 card.  Last, I used foam tape to adhere the llama and sentiment strip.

Dare 2B Artzy 3D Shaped Scene Card

I went to a card convention in Irving, Texas and bought this fun stamp  and die set (Flowers for Mom) by Dare 2B Artzy.  They had the cutest booth  full of inspiration.
Handmade 3D shaped scene card.
When I saw their current challenge I thought it would be fun to do a 3D shaped scene card. I stamped, colored with Zigs and then die cut three floral images.  Next I made made my card base by cutting a 5 1/2\” x 5 3/4\” panel and scoring at 3/4\” and 1 1/2\” on each end.  I then used brushes and Dare 2 B Artzy \”Blue Sky\” dye ink to create a sky background.  I wanted to layer the flowers so I created two panels of  \”grass\”. The back \”hill\” is 1/4\” above the sky panel so the card actually has three levels.

Recipe:
Dare 2B Arzy Flowers for Mom stamps
Dare 2B Artzy Joyful Flowers dies
Dare 2B Artzy Blue Sky die ink
Bristol card stock
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

I am entering this card in:
Dare 2B Artzy Shaped Card Challenge – I created a 3D shaped card for my flowers.

Lil Red Wagon Repeat Challenge – I repeated the layers of flowers for a full dimensional look.

Humorous Monkey Birthday Card

Sometimes a funny card is the way to go.  These monkeys make me smile so I thought it would be fun to have them swinging together by their tails. They look like they are up to mischief.
Photo Play We Bought A Zoo stamp and die set.
I used PhotoPlay We bought a Zoo stamps and dies.  I colored in the monkeys with Copic markers and then die cut.  I also cut a frame to define the scene a bit better.  I used some pretty textured butter colored card stock for the background because I wanted to keep the focus on the monkeys.

WWC224 – Karen\’s Feminine "Anything Goes" Challenge

Hello there!  Today I am hosting Watercooler Wednesday\’s #224 – Karen\’s Feminine \”Anything Goes\” Challenge and I am so pleased you stopped by.

I\’ve been playing with alcohol inks and had some scraps I wanted to use to make into a floral card.  I just ordered these fun floral die-cuts (Newton\’s Nook Flower Trio) for this idea.

Die cut alcohol ink flowers using Newton\'s Nook Floral Trio Die

I started by die cutting the parts to each flower/leaf and then assembled.  I wanted a textured background so I used an embossing folder (Sizzix/Tim Holtz Alterations) on a neutral cardstock panel.  I like that there are different sizes of \”dots\” as well as empty spaces.  I also diecut my sentiment from an alcohol ink scrap.  I added the  dry embossed panel to a white A2 card and then added the flowers with foam dots for added dimension.  I like this cheery card and it is going to my mom on her birthday.  Red is her favorite color so I thought she would like to top bloom.

I am entering this card in Alphabet Challenge \”E is for Embossing Folder\”.  I love the texture that embossing folders add to a project.

Thanks for stopping by!
