Spellbinders December 2025 Stitching Die of the Month – A Valentine

Today I’m sharing a bold, modern Valentine created with the Spellbinders December 2025 Stitching Die of the MonthA Perfect Blend. This kit is absolutely brewtiful for coffee and tea lovers, and I leaned hard into the cozy-caffeine theme for this design!

Coffee | Tea Themed Handmade Card

I began by die cutting two Beeswax yellow coffee mugs, each with half of a stitched heart. Once stitched, the two halves come together to form one full Poppy red heart — such a sweet little metaphor! I used gold thread (two strands) for all the stitching to keep things warm, shiny, and modern.

Behind the mugs sits a crisp white die cut heart from the Hero Arts DI334 Nesting Hearts, which frames the design and lets the bold color palette really sing. The background is Oceanside cardstock, a deep blue-green that I will never stop loving. It brings a graphic, sophisticated feel that keeps the whole card clean and contemporary.

The sentiment is a large scripty “love you” die cut from Poppy red cardstock, paired with the included “a perfect blend” sentiment strip.

To give readers a peek behind the scenes, I included this process photo showing the card mid-way through: die cuts laid out, metal dies off to the side, and my needle threaded with gold floss. I love sharing these in-progress moments because they show just how simple the stitching is — and how quickly this design comes together.

I also relied on my Spellbinders Cardswatching Die & Stamps along with ColorWheel Cardstock, both of which continue to be staples in my craft room.

This bright and modern Valentine is for my husband — we share a latte together every afternoon, so a coffee-themed note felt absolutely perfect. ❤️☕

If you love bold color, cozy themes, and modern stitching, this kit is going to be so much fun. And if you want even more caffeine-themed inspiration, don’t miss my other favorite coffee card:

My Favorite Stitching Kit Yet! | Spellbinders November 2025 Stitching Die of the Month

Adorable handmade card with a Chihuahua dog peeking out of a die cut handstitched purse with colors in 4 shades of aqua.

If you love stitching dies and adorable pups, you’re in for a treat with the Spellbinders November 2025 Stitching Die of the Month. This kit is pure joy — it features the most darling Chihuahua peeking out of a stitched purse, complete with a tiny sweater and irresistible details. I think this might be my favorite stitching kit of the year!

✂️ A Stitch Above the Rest

For the purse, I followed the etched diamond stitching guide using DMC #964 aqua floss (two strands). I like to die cut each stitched panel twice and glue them together before I start stitching — it gives the piece a nice sturdy base and helps it hold its shape.

The stitching adds beautiful texture, and the aqua floss blends perfectly with the Teal Topaz ColorWheel cardstock.

🎨 My Color Recipe

Here’s the cardstock and stitching palette I used:

Fun dog theme hand stitched die cut card created with Spellbinders November Stitching Die of the Month Club Kit.

👜 The Perfect Sentiment & Finishing Touches

For the sentiment, I used the “Hello” Die from Hero Arts’ November Fancy Die Kit — it’s the perfect elegant touch without stealing focus from the little pup. The background features the Hero Arts Elegant Window Fancy Die, which frames the scene beautifully.

The main ColorWheel palette of aquas and neutrals (Teal Topaz, Blue Spruce, Waterfall and Fawn) keeps everything cohesive while letting that sweet Chihuahua shine. The stitched purse adds just the right amount of dimension, making this card one of those “pick up and look closer” moments.

This one’s going to my daughter’s mother-in-law, who happens to have two Chihuahuas — so I know it’ll be a hit!

I have an adorable Color Block Food Theme card coming on November 11th…come back and take a peek.

Rainbow Ink Stenciled Cards with Foil Accents | Year-Round Inspiration

Two cards in soft pinks and other pastel colors that are stenciled, hot foiled and die cut. The theme is gift wrapped packages and the elements can be used for Christmas, thank you cards, birthdays, showers and graduations.

The new Hero Arts October 2025 Best Gift Ever Collection is here, and I couldn’t resist creating with the Best Gift Ever Boxes Bundle. These products are incredibly versatile—you can use them for birthdays, Christmas, graduations, showers, or anytime you need a festive card. I went with pastel rainbow colors and magenta foil for two cheerful and celebratory designs.

Handmade pastel rainbow card with hot foiled, stenciled and die cut gift packages with magenta foil perfect for a birthday or shower.

Card Process

  1. I began by hot foiling the ribbon and bow details from the Wrap It Up LetterPress + Foil Plates in Magenta Foil on Deluxe Smooth Cardstock. This cardstock gives crisp foiling and smooth ink blending results.
  2. Next, I pulled out the Gorgeous Gifts Layering Stencils to add sherbet-like rainbow colors to my packages.
  3. Once stenciled, I die cut the gifts with the Gift Boxes Die Set. I repeated steps 1-3 twice to create enough pieces for two cards.
  4. For the sentiments, I again hot foiled in magenta foil:
  5. I arranged the die-cut gifts and sentiments into a loose square composition, mounting them with foam squares onto a white scalloped square panel (from the Square Scallop Infinity Dies). Finally, I adhered them to a pale pink card base.

The result? Two pastel, rainbow-inspired cards with a touch of elegant foil shine. These gifts are perfect for any season or occasion—and I love how the foil details elevate the look for something extra special.

💡 Foiling Note: I own two foiling machines, but I consistently get my best results with the Spellbinders Glimmer System. In fact, I haven’t reached for my other machine since 2023! This is, of course, just my personal experience, but I thought it might be helpful to share if you’re curious about foiling systems.

Handmade thank you card in rainbow pastel colors using Hero Arts Best Gift Ever Collection. Hot Foiling, Layered Stenciling and die cutting techniques used.

I am also participating in an Instagram Hop for this release, and we’d love for you to pop by! You can find all the details HERE.

Spellbinders October 2025 Stitching Die of the Month | Peppermint Prancer

Spellbinders October 2025 Stitching Die of the Month handmade Christmas card with a stitched red and white peppermint candy used as the O in JOY, with a playful Rudolph reindeer sprawled across it on a Cascade blue background

The October 2025 Stitching Die of the Month is called Peppermint Prancer, and it’s as festive as it sounds! This month’s design combines the sweetness of peppermint candy with the whimsy of a playful reindeer—perfect for cheerful holiday cards.

🍬 The Peppermint

I started with a Cascade blue background to give my card a crisp winter feel. The stitched peppermint takes center stage: alternating red and white cardstock wedges stitched with contrasting thread—red stitches on the white wedges and white stitches on the red wedges. The result is a bold, candy-like design that feels dimensional and playful.

Die cut JOY sentiment with large stitched peppermint as the O, with Rudolph the reindeer holding on playfully. Card created with Spellbinders October 2025 Stitching Die of the Month Club Kit.

🦌 The Reindeer

Of course, no holiday peppermint is complete without a reindeer! I gave my prancer a bright red die cut nose to turn him into Rudolph, and I positioned him sprawled out across the peppermint as if he’s hanging on for dear life. It makes the whole card feel lighthearted and full of energy.

🎄 The Sentiment

Here’s where the fun twist comes in: the stitched peppermint doubles as the “O” in the word JOY. I die cut a bold J and Y (included in the kit) from the same red cardstock as the peppermint so the word stretches across the entire card front. The peppermint pulls double duty as both candy and sentiment—an easy way to make your design more impactful.

✂️ Stitching Details & Supplies

I stitched with two strands of embroidery floss and recommend keeping thread taut but not tight for smooth stitches. For those new to stitching dies, I’ll be linking to my favorite stitching accessories and tools so you can jump right in.

Fergus the Gnome – Tips and Tricks for Stitching

Hand-stitched wool felt Fergus the Gnome decorated with a die cut lemon and flowers in teal, aqua, yellow, lavender, and pink Two photos: one of the front and a second showing the back.

Meet Fergus the Gnome—Spellbinders’ newest Felt Décor project! Fergus is a hand-stitched wool felt doll with endless opportunities for personalization. Using high-quality merino wool felt, I created my own version: a cheerful Lemon Gnome, decorated with citrus and flowers.

the front of hand-stitched merino wool felt Fergus the Gnome decorated with a die cut lemon and flowers in teal, aqua, yellow, lavender, and pink

✂️ Why Wool Felt?

I’ve tried different felts in the past, but they sometimes frayed or stretched, leaving me frustrated. Merino wool felt cuts beautifully with Spellbinders dies and keeps its shape. For this project, I used my Platinum 6 Die Cutting System + felt from the Trend and Holiday Collections—smooth, sturdy, and vibrant.

🍋 My Lemon Gnome

The back of Fergus the Lemon Gnome's coat and hat with all the embellishments.

Fergus can be customized with accessory kits or your own creativity. I decided to make a “Lemon Gnome” using the Citrus Spritz dies:

  • A die cut lemon + layered flowers for front and back
  • Teal, aqua, and white wool felt for Fergus himself
  • Yellow, lavender, and pink flowers for accents

To add personality, I stitched:

  • Blanket stitching along Fergus’s giant hat brim and coat edges
  • Running stitches for construction
I stitched with 3 strands of embroidery floss, pulling up, not sideways, to keep the felt smooth.

🧵 Stitching & Assembly

Process photo showing me handstitch Fergus the Gnomes felt hat.

  • LINK to multiple YouTube Fergus Instruction Videos
  • Stitches used: running stitch + blanket stitch. I used three strands of DMC floss.
  • Accessories: Fergus has two coordinating accessories die sets, but I used one of my favorite die sets, Citrus Spritz. Use your favorite dies to personalize your gnomes.
  • Die cutting: use a regular sandwich in your machine; Spellbinders Platinum 6 dies cut felt beautifully
  • Stitching: For my Fergus running stitch assembly, I used floss the same color as the felt. For the decorative blanket stitching, I used chocolate brown floss, which contrasted nicely with the teal and aqua felt.
  • Stuffing: I used cotton fiber filling for the stuffing and then added uncooked rice to the bottom of the gnome’s body to add ballast. I inserted about an inch of rice right before I stitched on the base.
  • Assembly: Bearly Art Glue worked great for securing embellishments and components. I used a generous amount. I also cut a little triangle from deli paper and inserted inside the coat prior to gluing (see photo 2 down). This kept the glue from seeping to the other side.
  • Tip: keep floss taut, not tight, for smooth edges

You build Fergus piece by piece—hat, coat, nose, accessories—and then assemble him. He’s adorable, sturdy, and so fun to make.

📸 Organization Process Photo

I used my Stash Stax to keep me organized while I created Fergus.

Giftable & Customizable

You can decorate Fergus for any season, occasion, or holiday. Imagine Christmas gnomes, Valentine’s gnomes, Easter gnomes, or even citrusy summer gnomes like mine. They make unique gifts, handmade keepsakes, or cheerful décor.

Spellbinders Stitching Die of the Month – Beautiful Blooming Florals

Handmade stitched floral card with layered pink, coral, and yellow die cut flowers on a Waterfall aqua blue background, accented with gems.

This month’s Spellbinders Stitching Die of the Month is a true floral beauty! The set includes three sizes of blooms, and I couldn’t wait to dive in with floss, cardstock, and gems to create a stitched garden full of detail and color.

You might also enjoy my blog post for the September Small and Large Die of the Month Kit.

🌼 My Stitching Process

To give my flowers a sturdy stitching base, I die cut each bloom twice and glued the layers together before stitching. This little extra step makes the stitching so much easier and helps the finished blooms hold their shape beautifully.

I used two threads of floss throughout, which was just the right weight for crisp yet delicate details.

Close-up of stitched die cut flowers with pale pink and yellow floss, Citrus Spritz leaves, and gem embellishment.

🎨 Stitching Recipe & Color Palette

For this project, I worked from the Color Cubes Palette #391 (Color Cubes Bundle) and pulled together a warm, happy scheme:

The combo of pinks, corals, and yellows pops beautifully against the fresh aqua-blue background!

✨ Finishing Touches

  • I added a touch of sparkle with Woodland Tales gems, which highlight the flower centers perfectly.
  • For the foliage, I decided to switch things up! Instead of using the leaves included in the set, I reached for the pretty die cut leaves from Citrus Spritz (Here is a LINK to a post using the Citrus Spritz Die Set).

💡 Extra Tips for Stitched Dies

  • Don’t be afraid to mix and match leaves, blooms, and embellishments from other kits for added variety.
  • Layering blooms in groups of three always creates a pleasing, balanced look.
  • Keep a small piece of tape handy to hold your floss tails on the back of stitched elements until you’re ready to glue them down.

This month’s kit is such a joy—relaxing to stitch, yet bold and beautiful when assembled. I can see these blooms being used for birthdays, thank you cards or just becuase.

Spellbinders August 2025 Club Kits: Under the Sea Magic!

2 colorful aquatic theme die cut scene cards featuring bright bold colors, a graphic look and LOTS of fish.

This month’s Spellbinders Club Kits dive deep into all things aquatic—and let me tell you, these kits are fin-tastic! 🐠💦 From vibrant fish to stitched sailboats, the August kits are perfect for summer crafting or anytime you want to send a smile that makes a splash. I created three nautical-themed cards using the Die of the Month, Large Die of the Month, Stitching Die of the Month, and my Caboodle Bonus Gift.

🐟 Card 1: Colorful Coral Reef Scene (Die of the Month + Caboodle Bonus Gift)

Die cut coral reef scene with colorful fish on Oceanside blue background. Made with Spellbinders August 2025 Die of the Month and Caboodle Bonus.

This card is bright, whimsical, and just so much fun to put together! I started with a rich Oceanside cardstock panel for the background “water.” Then I built a vibrant underwater world using the Die of the Month and my Caboodle Bonus Gift for even more fishy flair. I skipped the scuba diver die cuts and instead filled the scene with colorful fish in pink, coral, orange, purple, yellow, white, and aqua, all cut from my scrap bin. 🌈

TIP: Many of the elements are quite small—my Bearly Art glue with the fine-tip nozzle was essential for precise placement. I love that this card feels playful and full of life without being fussy!

Die cut card with lots of cute colorful fish swimming around a coral reef.

🐡 Card 2: Make a Splash with the Large Die of the Month

Pink fish in a plastic bag on blue background with “Make a Splash” sentiment. Made with Spellbinders August 2025 Large Die of the Month.

This Large Die of the Month card features the cutest little pink fish swimming home in a plastic bag! It’s such a clever, nostalgic design. I layered the fish-in-bag die cut over another Oceanside background and added a pink string “tie” at the top of the bag. The sentiment “Make a Splash” is included in the kit and absolutely perfect. It’s a great all-occasion card—birthday, congratulations, or just because.

If you like the graphic look of these first two cards, you might be interested in reading my post: What’s Brewing.

🚢 Card 3: Stitched Sailboat on the Sea (Stitching Die of the Month)

Stitched and die cut brown sailboat with red and yellow flags on blue sea and “Born to Shine Year After Year” sentiment. Made with Spellbinder's August 2025 Stitching Die of the Month.

My final card gives major paper boat vibes, thanks to the Stitching Die of the Month. I die cut the boat from brown cardstock and stitched the details with marine blue embroidery floss. The little red and yellow pennants waving from the mast make it feel festive and fun. 🌊 I added a blue die cut sea, a white die cut cloud, and hot foiled the uplifting La Dolce Vita sentiment:
“Born to shine year after year.”

Stitching Tip: I die cut the boat twice and layered the pieces together before stitching for extra sturdiness. I used two threads of floss for the perfect amount of detail.

Masculine die cut and hands-stitched boat card perfect for birthdays.

These cards came together so easily and would be adorable for summer birthdays, kids’ celebrations, or just brightening someone’s day. Don’t forget—this is all part of the August 2025 Club Kit Release, and if you’re a Deluxe Caboodle subscriber, you get everything plus the bonus die, and save a whopping 58%!

A hand-stitched card with geometric diamond pattern on frosty blue paper over teal background. White floss stitching and peppermint candy embellishments decorate the design. Gold glimmer sentiment reads 'Sending warm thoughts your way.

The Stitching Club this month features a lovely geometric diamond design that reminded me of snowflakes and vintage quilting. I stitched the design on a frosty blue overlay using two strands of white floss. Underneath, a teal base peeks through, adding subtle contrast.

For embellishments, I added peppermint candies for a sweet holiday touch. A foiled gold glimmer sentiment—Sending Warm Thoughts Your Way—adds shine and warmth. This card would be perfect tucked in with a winter care package.

Next up is the absolutely adorable Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Kit penguin mug die. I went bold with my color palette to create a graphic, eye-catching card. The black and white penguin sits against a rich Teal Topaz background, with accents of Wild Berry (hot pink) and Saffron (yellow) for a fun pop.

The whipped cream topper adds texture and playfulness, and a bold “Merry Christmas” sentiment finishes it off. This little guy is equal parts charming and striking—a new favorite!

Set Sail with the Spellbinders June Club Kits!

This month’s kits are delightfully nautical and full of personality. I had so much fun creating four playful and unique cards that capture everything from charming seaside scenes to silly sea life.

Card 1 – Graphic Nautical with the Die of the Month

Bold inky blue background with a die cut walrus in a yellow raincoat and red hat next to a seagull holding a flag. "Ahoy!" sentiment. Spellbinders June 2025 Die of the Month Kit card in a bold graphic style.

Minimal color, maximum charm.
I created a bold and graphic card using the Die of the Month kit. The dark Oceanside cardstock background makes the characters pop—a seriously adorable walrus in a bright Beeswax yellow rain slicker and Poppy red beanie, alongside a flag-waving seagull in matching nautical flair. The clean white “Ahoy!” sentiment lets this duo shine.

The walrus was die cut from Fog and Anchor cardstocks and softly ink blended on the muzzle for extra dimension. All the cardstock is from the Color Wheel Sampler Pack.

Who knew a walrus could steal the show?

⛵ Card 2 – Cheery Sailboat with the Caboodle Bonus

Small mint green notecard with a red, white, and yellow sailboat on blue waves and the sentiment "sending a wave." Spellbinders June 2025 Deluxe Caboodle bonus gift.

This month’s Deluxe Caboodle Bonus Gift is a sweet little die cut sailboat, and I couldn’t wait to take it for a spin!

I crafted a bright red, white, and yellow boat cruising on gently layered waves of blue-green and white cardstock. Becuase the mast is somewhat delicate, I die cut the boat twice and glued together for a sturdier focal point. The wave dies are part of the Large Die of the Month Kit. The background is a soft mint green, die cut with my go-to Postage Stamp Infinity Dies. The sentiment, “sending a wave,” perfectly matches the cheerful tone. The card is slightly smaller at 4½ x 5″—perfect for a quick note.

🏠 Card 3 – Rainbow Coastal Village with the Large Die of the Month

A die cut seaside village scene card with rainbow sherbet-colored houses, blue waves, and a “just for you” sentiment. Spellbinders June 2025 Large Die of the Month kit.

Next up: a charming seaside scene built with the Large Die of the Month kit. I assembled four tiny houses in sunny rainbow sherbet hues nestled beside rolling waves. It’s a joyful and relaxing little coastal village, with a “Just for You” die cut sentiment on top.

Once again, the background is mint green, die cut with my postage stamp die for that crisp framed finish.

⚓ Card 4 – Stitched Captain’s Wheel with a Playful Seagull

Card with a Stitched captain's wheel on an aqua stenciled background with a seagull in a red and white striped shirt and “ahoy” sentiment. Spellbinders June 2025 Stitching Die of the Month Kit.

Stitch lovers, you’re going to adore this one! I used the Stitching Die of the Month to create a weathered captain’s wheel, stitched with DMC 437 (tan) using two strands of floss. I doubled up the die cuts for stability before stitching.

The background is stenciled using Hero Arts Pebbles and Stones Stencil with Splash ink, giving the look of water or bubbling seafoam. A goofy seagull in a red and white shirt and cap is perched just off center on the wheel for a fun focal point. The included “ahoy” sentiment completes the look.

Spellbinders March 2025 Club Kits – Two Cards, Endless Creativity!

Die Cut handmade cards created with Spellbinders March 2025 Club Kits.

March is here, and with it comes Spellbinders’ March 2025 Club Kits, featuring some truly exciting club kits! This month, I crafted two very different—but equally fun—cards: one celebrating the great outdoors and another bringing stitched floral elegance to life. Let’s dive in!

Kits Used Today:

Card 1: A Fishing Adventure

Masculine fishing theme die cut card using Spellbinders March 2025 Small Die of the Month Kit. Two men are fishing on a dock, there is a "caught" fish on a line and the colors are primarily blue with the men wearing orange and green shirts and hats.

For my first card, I used the Die of the Month Club Kit – Fairways and Fish Tales, a perfect choice for masculine cards. This set brings all the charm of a peaceful fishing trip, complete with fishing rods, tackle boxes, and two friends casting their lines from a dock.

Since my husband is a fly-fishing enthusiast, this card is especially meaningful. The “Happiness is…” sentiment captures the joy of a day spent on the water. The color palette leans into lovely blues, accented with pops of orange and green, giving the scene a fresh and lively look. If you’re looking for a kit that’s perfect for the men in your life, this one is a winner!

For assembly, I used Bearly GlueFoam Squares and Craft Foam. To finish, I added some Clear Enamel Dots to simulate water splashes.

Handmade die-cut card featuring two male friends fishing on a wooden dock with fishing rods, tackle boxes, and a 'Happiness is...' sentiment. The color scheme is blue with pops of orange and green.

Card 2: Floral Elegance with Stitching & Die Cuts

Elegant handmade stitched card with a gold-threaded white background and die-cut flowers in pink, orange, and white, accented with gold detail. Created with Spellbinders March 2025 Stitching Die and Large Die Club Kits.

For my second card, I combined the Stitching Club of the Month Kit with the Large Die of the Month, which offers three design options: floral, dog, and dinosaur. I chose the floral dies and paired them with the intricate stitching background for a stunning, textured effect.

The stitching panel was cut from white cardstock and hand-stitched with gold thread, giving it a luxe feel. Then, I added die-cut flowers in pink, orange, and white, accented with gold, to create a truly elegant design. Stitched cards always have that “WOW” factor, and this one is no exception—handmade beauty that recipients love!

One thing I love about the stitching die background is that it’s just as beautiful unstiched. I plan to use it that way in the future for a more subtle yet equally stunning effect.
